The Liberty Yell is back for Episode 131! With the fanbase (and me) having some fun with the Flyers trade history on June 23rd, other teams throughout the NHL decided to join in on the fun and cause some chaos! And I'm here to break down all the trades that have happened since the June 16th Joseph Woll to Philadelphia trade. 

 

I kicked things off by going over the funny (and ironic) graphic my edit guy, Johnny, made for National June 23rd Flyers Trade Day. Brayden Schenn for Morgan Frost, Jori Lehtera, and Joel Farabee on 2017 draft day? Memories. Then we dive into the sheer amount of trades from OTHER NHL teams on the Flyers day... Simon Nemec to CGY, William Eklund to Ottawa, Jordan Kyrou to Washington, and Bo Byram to Chicago. We also get into who I like for the Flyers, with where they SHOULD be drafting (21st overall). Maddox Dagenais, Xavier Villeneuve, Tommy Bleyl, Ilia Morozov, Alexander Command, or Elon Hermansson? Could Malte Gustafasson fall? I talk about it at length! 

 

Garnet Hathaway to the Panthers, Jason Robertson saying no to Seattle and St. Louis tonight, and Mason McTavish getting closed on by the Rangers or Blues. Will Danny close? We'll see!

The Liberty Yell #130: Joseph Woll is a Flyer; More To Come?

MOVEMENT HAS HAPPENED. The Philadelphia Flyers kicked off the post-cup handout with a trade!

 

On Episode 130, we break down the move that sent Sam Ersson, Emil Andrae, and a 3rd roud pick in 2026 to Toronto for Joseph Woll and Simon Benoit. We analyze the outlook for the future of the defense and why there could be more movement coming soon. We talk about how Danny might have just created one of the better goalie tandems in the league if Joseph Woll can stay healthy and Dan Vladar can look like 75% of the guy he was last year.

The Liberty Yell #129: Dylan Larkin Trade Request Takes Center Stage: Should The Flyers Pull The Trigger?

We went deep into the Dylan Larkin discussion in Episode 129 of The Liberty Yell. We broke down what a realistic trade could be for the almost 30-year-old center, whether it makes sense for the Flyers right now, and how he would fit in with the team. We compared Larkin head-to-head with other (younger) center options the Flyers could potentially look at via trade in Matty Beniers, Mason McTavish, and Shane Wright. 

 

We touched a tad on the John Carlson rumors and what we would be willing to pay for the 36-year-old's services, bridging a gap with younger defenseman on the team like David Jiricek and Oliver Bonk. Is it fair to expect Carlson to come in here and fix an extremely broken PP? Are they one guy away? We also discussed the possibility of the defensive core getting shaken up a little here (Seeler, Risto, or maybe even York?).
